My Collection

It's almost impossible for me to keep up with my collection. I am actively scouring Ebay, visiting conventions and of course the local stores looking for currents. My collection is now well over 700 dispensers. I also have some of the licensed items, but I have given up on trying to collect those. I'll still buy the ones I like, but my main focus will be on the dispensers themselves.

My main focus over the last few years has been on getting all of the vintage PEZ Pals. Now, I know this is a nearly impossible task, but I'm willing to try. I'm not a variation nut, I'm just going for one example of each major dispenser. I don't need three Knights, one is fine. There are a few that are still somewhat out of reach, Bride and Groom and Munich Man are still just distant wishes, but who knows.

At the 2000 Minnesota convention, I made my first BIG purchase. I found a PERFECT Ring Master. I had to do a little sweet talking with my wife to let me get it. He is a great addition, but that just laid the groundwork for me to need the rest of the big ones.

At the 2001 PEZAMANIA I was able to make several additions to my PEZ Pal collection. I got a PEZ Boy with Cap. It's hard to believe that I put off getting this one for so long. The next one was the Engineer (Choo Choo Charlie to some). He is cool, he reminds me of the old School House Rock (Conjunction Junction, what's your function!!!) The big one this year was the Knight! Red plume on a 3.8 USA stem! I was beginning to think he was out of reach, but I got lucky and found a reasonable deal.

I have also become very fond of the Long Chin Clown.  I don't know what it is about this dispenser, but I love them.  They are simple and the color combinations are fun.  I think collecting the many color variations of this dispenser will be my next major focus.  These are still at least somewhat affordable.

Below is a picture of my collection from early 1999. I can't believe it ever fit up on my desk. I now have an entire room in my house dedicated to my collection.
